Lovely place, well furnished. Just a little loud as walls are thin and can hear the neighbours.

Great option in Tain. Heather and her staff are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Plenty of info provided in advance and good dinner options and a hearty filling breakfast available. Highly recommended.

My original review would have been a 4, but they really have their act together and genuinely seem to have the guests best interests at heart. The bar and restaurant are lovely. The rooms are about average. However, when there was any issue they were prompt and friendly as well as very accommodating. Certainly a nice place to stay.

We stayed at the Carnegie Hotel, on 2 separate occasions, and for 2 nights each time. Staying in a different room each time, both rooms were clean, tidy and the bed comfortable. Both shower rooms were good. Heather contacted us well in advance each time, with information on room and dining menu. You have to order your meals by 3 o'clock, from a very good selection. The food was excellent. You can order breakfast in the evening. Bar has a good selection of wines, beers & spirits. The hotel is located just off the A9 and on the Edge of Tain, which is within walking distance We had a lovely stay and recommend this hotel to all. Staff we all very helpful.

Not sure where to start. Reviews normally manage to find at least one fault. I can't find any. If only all small local hotels were as good as this one, reviews would be unnecessary. My arrival was as though I was a regular visitor (my first visit). The room was perfect and spotless and even before I arrived, I'd already been sent the menu and arranged a time for my evening meal. When my dinner was served (exactly at the time I'd asked for) , it was perfect I can't describe it any better. Hot, plentiful and delicious. I really wish I had a good reason to pass this way more often. Thanks.

Heather and Derek, thank you both so much for your hospitality! You two went out of your way to make our stay the best it could be! Lovely little hotel, nice location in Tain with great breakfast and caring owners! Thank you Derek especially for organizing our driver and taking care of us, and to Heather for your caring way! Love, the two swiss backpackers!
